Local motorcyclists know the best places to go.
And here's where we share our secrets with you.

Welcome to MotoSFO - The Motorcycle Travellers' Guide to Northern California.

San Francisco Bay Area motorcyclists fan out from the city to head for the hills through Wine Country to Lake Tahoe, and from the coast roads to the canyons from Big Sur to Mendocino. We wind around the Sierras to Death Valley and back up again in a long weekend, and take afternoon rides to the beach or ride-to-eat destination restaurants.

Pacific Coast Highway 1 in Marin to Stinson and Bolinas

As base for exploration, the city has the rare quality of being surrounded by open space so that within a half-hour you can be blissfully cruising the coast or tangling with twisties in the mountains. In less than an hour you'll be in wine country, the redwood forest, or a seemingly forgotten coast. Within half a day you can be in Big Sur or Mendocino, wine country, or Lake Tahoe. In a long weekend you can enjoy places like Yosemite and farther flung to Death Valley, and moto back again to San Francisco.
